APQP and RGA
]Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for a product requires a very complex structured approach. Quality is already defined during the definition and development of a product. And thus error avoidance is already achieved in the planning stage instead of later error correction during production. This avoids high costs. Well-known standardized methods such as FMEA or special capability tests are used. This ensures at an early stage that a product to be realized meets the customer’s requirements.
The maturity level assurance (RGA) of a new product according to VDA guidelines is part of the project management. Quality must be firmly calculable right from the product development stage so that the risk of recalls can be ruled out from the outset. Through a risk assessment of the areas component, supplier, production and deadline in cooperation with customers and suppliers, maturity-critical points are determined and defined. In several stages of maturity, the respective milestone is evaluated with a gate review. Each maturity level receives an overall evaluation from the result of the so-called traffic light evaluation of relevant questions.
