Assessment, development, integration and auditing
Supplier Management is an important pillar in a strategic purchasing process and includes the evaluation of a potential or already commissioned supplier, its development and integration into the organization and product development. Supplier audits are carried out by a certified Process Auditor. The standard VDA 6.3 (Association of the Automotive Industry e.V.) evaluates the series and service processes of the automotive suppliers with the aim of minimizing risks and improving results. The IATF 16949 (International Automotive Taskforce) audit assesses corporate processes with regard to automotive quality management systems.
The ultimate goal of supplier development is to achieve cost-effective and customer-oriented solutions. This results in close and long-term cooperation between the customer and his supplier. Competent supplier development focusses on the performance and development potential of suppliers. For the supplier, supplier development is a valuable help in recognizing its own potential and optimizing its processes. As a certified process auditor, I am well acquainted with all standards and requirements to provide your business/offering to your supplier in order to optimize the processes within a project.
In order to determine the performance of suppliers in supplier management in accordance with ISO 9001 standard, a systematic supplier evaluation is required. This should be done regularly. There are different procedures and methods. The sources of information need to be carefully examined, include timeliness, objectivity, accessibility, clarity. The evaluation is based on criteria such as quality, logistics, risk or commercial behaviour. After checking and determining the weighting of the present criteria, the supplier is evaluated using key figures. These, in turn, are distinguishable in technology, logistics, quality and purchasing indicators.
